The real advantages to starting with Remnants are the Colonial Remains modifiers on your Guaranteed Habitable Worlds. Don't wait for habitability modifications to colonize new worlds. According to dev statements on their forums, the Remnants world isn't a normal relic world (with the specific comparison being that it doesn't have the same features as the rubricator world). Pick the prosperity tradition, clear blockers and build a researcher district. 3- Pick Natural Neural Network as your other civic. Once repaired, it can be colonized as normal.
